A very healthy breakfast choice with coffee

OK, I admit it…

I’m obsessed with any information related to good health and nutrition! This is the reason I tried to figure out a way to create a very nutritious, healthy breakfast which I can combine with coffee. Not only healthy… the breakfast I was looking for should also be very easy to make and fast!
So, after a few weeks of research and experimenting this is the breakfast I now enjoy every single day:

  1. Two slices of whole-wheat bread with sesame seed oil (much better than peanut-butter), Greek honey (one of the best in the world), and ground flax seeds on top.
  2. What I call a “tinyccino” (I like the sound of this word). Tinyccino is a very small cappuccino in a 4oz cup. It’s made with 2oz of espresso (double shot) and 2oz of foamed milk. You can also add a teaspoon of honey.
  3. A small apple (or any fruit you like).

Now, let me explain why this is one of the best breakfasts you can ever have.

Whole-wheat bread is vastly superior to common mass-produced “white” bread because it has all the ingredients of wheat including insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber promotes the movement of material through your digestive system and increases stool bulk.

Sesame seed oil combined with honey has a fantastic mouth-watering taste! Sesame seed oil is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, B1, E, omega-6 and more.

Pure honey has a nice sweet taste and provides a lot of energy. Its antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties can help improve digestive system and help you stay healthy and fight disease.

Flax seeds are one of the best sources of omega-3′s. You must aim eating two tablespoons per day. The health benefits of the omega-3′s are so many (cholesterol, heart, skin,mood,…) that you’d better visit Wikipedia for more information.

The “tinyccino” has a delicious taste without having a lot of milk. You’d better avoid lots of cow’s milk in your diet for many reasons. Only consume a small amount if you want it, but choose fresh organic milk. If you want your coffee sweet you can add some honey or brown sugar.

The last part is a humble small apple! Although they are very common and cheap they are great for your health. Prefer organic farming apples as they are more nutritious and safer for you and the environment…

If you’re wondering about taste let me just tell you that this is one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in my life!

Another fantastic addition to your breakfast is oatmeal with honey and ground flax seeds. The problem is that I can’t combine it with coffee for taste reasons!

  1. Hi! Tinyccino sounds like a really cool idea, never thought of that. I may not use honey, though. Never tried it with coffee before, but it sounds like it wouldn’t go well? Oh well, never know until you try. ^_-
